Gary Wilcox                                              Long, Long, Time.

Growing up playing guitar in elementary school, Gary spent his youth in San Antonio in obscure bands such as the Derelicts and Captain Midnight.  With a move to Austin in 1971 he became more serious about writing and performing music.

In Austin he joined up with a couple of high school friends – Judi West and David Hisbrook – and Michael “T-bird” Jackson.  Forming Wilcox-Jackson and later Wilcox-West, they played venues like Split Rail, Saxon Pub, Sit’n’Bull, and the Armadillo World Headquarters.  David Hisbrook penned “Too Much Cosmic” in 1974, which the band released as a single. The "B" side of the single was "Headed back to Texas".

Following the break-up of the band in 1975, Wilcox continued performing and most of these songs were written and recorded then. Wilcox sings and plays mandolin, 5- string banjo, acoustic guitar, bass and telecaster guitar on these tracks except where noted.
